Digital Nomads living in the present for the stories we will tell in the future
We have left the office behind for a life of experiences, where our desk might be a sun lounger or an airport terminal. No more wishing for the annual two-week vacation or getting the "holiday blues" when we come back.
Are we the unlikeliest of nomads? Yes! We have never camped, Eddie will not go anywhere without his laptop and Sara changes her shoes three times a day.
Join us as we explore what it is to be a digital nomad, how we find a work life balance (spoiler alert: you need to work at it) and learn to pack light!
I've always known I like to break things so it is not surprising that I started out as an electronic engineer. It turns out my real passion is coding and I became a full stack developer over 15 years ago. I love documenting everything and I started out sharing my journey in tech and now, how we live our lives as digital nomads.
I am definitely the mathematician of the two of us, navigator (even when driving) and water park aficionado.
'Always be prepared' is my motto - whether that is bringing three cameras for a day trip or an extra jumper (for Sara, because she wouldn't think to bring her own).
Coming from a mixed ethnic background, I was brought up to consider myself a "citizen of the world", so I do feel that a nomadic lifestyle really was inevitable. As a child I knew I did not want to grow up to be stuck in an office - so try and explain the 13 year career as a property lawyer then...
Of the two of us, I will be the one insisting on doing things "like the locals do", trying street food and squeezing that one last outfit into my bag - just in case.
I will probably forget to bring water on a day trip, but I will definitely know what happened at that site in 14BC!
What's so "Digital" about you?
